Hi, I’m Al. And that’s Cali, about 80 lbs ago.

I’m a Bay Area-based creative and design lead with decades (gulp!) of digital agency experience (including being embedded and functioning as an in-house creative) and a background in design, animation, and front-end development.

A good friend and mentor always says good people are good business. I strive to foster a work environment that's accountable and efficient without ever losing curiosity, compassion, and empathy for the human element of the work we do together.

The best ideas can fall flat if the execution is flawed. I believe it’s possible (even crucial) to think big and sweat the details all at once, and this fuels my approach.

From the time I first became a CD in 2015 until recently, I worked exclusively with Google clients, supporting dozens of brands and products from Google Cloud to YouTube. Projects have included defining customer journey strategy, concepting global onboarding and growth campaigns, directing animation and video production, creating illustration libraries, and even supporting an internal engineering team with UX and product design.

And of course, hiring and managing the amazing creatives and UXers that get it all done. Most of the work is under heavy NDA but there are som projects linked in the work section.

Before that, I spent years as a Swiss-army knife creative working as an art director, designer, animator, video editor, front-end developer (RIP Flash), presentation specialist, and UXer.

Sometimes all at once.

There were online campaigns, microsites, events, animations, package design. I’ve designed and coded Flash websites for beer brands, animated banner and video ads for tacos, and did the layout for a self-help law book.
